PG&E's Gas Transmission Modernization Plans Promise Boost to State's Economy

PG&E’s gas transmission infrastructure plans over the next three years would support thousands of jobs, tens of millions of dollars in state and local tax revenue, and hundreds of millions of dollars in business sales if approved by state regulators, according to a new study by Economic Development Research Group (EDRG), a respected Boston consulting firm. In December 2013, PG&E asked the California Public Utilities Commission for resources to continue maintaining and modernizing its network of more than 6,700 miles of gas transmission pipelines and associated gas storage facilities to meet 21st-century standards of safety and reliability. The request covers the years 2015 to 2017.
