PG&E Community Development
We're dedicated to serving the unique needs of our various customer communities and promoting equal opportunity for our current and future employees, as well as our vendors. Our community development programs help build and sustain businesses, create jobs and broaden the income and tax base of our region. We know every dollar we put into the community contributes to the success of our company.
Supporting Supplier Diversity
PG&E contracts with qualified suppliers for services ranging from clerical support for a day to multi-year projects. To ensure a diverse playing field, our Supplier Diversity group identifies the most capable women-, minority- and disabled veteran-owned business enterprises (WMDVBE) as potential vendors. Ultimately, our vendor contracts stimulate growth for small- and medium-sized businesses, promote entrepreneurial spirit and pump millions of dollars back into the local economy.
Providing Educational Opportunities
PG&E promotes the importance of education by matching 100 percent of most employee donations to accredited schools and universities in our service area. We also support career-enhancing education. Our contributions to the University of California's Mathematics, Engineering and Science Achievement (MESA) program help bright, motivated high school and college students achieve their educational and career goals.
