Emergency Response - PG&E In Action
Pacific Gas and Electric Company maintains a comprehensive emergency plan to quickly mobilize personnel and equipment to restore electric and gas service. PG&E is also a member of the Mutual Aid System lending a helping hand to other utilities and requesting assistance when needed.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company's electric facilities are subject to winter and summer heat storms that unleash violent destructive forces across the service territory. As a result damage can be wide spread affecting thousands of customers.
Tree Trimming/Vegetation Management
PG&E trims trees to keep communities safe, to prevent fires and to prevent power outages. Pacific Gas and Electric Company uses natural target trimming, better known as directional trimming, to maintain clearances between trees and high-voltage power lines, which is the recommended trimming method of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the National Arbor Day Foundation.

Hydro Electric Facilities
Pacific Gas and Electric Company's hydroelectric system of 68 power houses is built along 16 river basins stretching nearly 500 miles from Redding in the north to Bakersfield in the south. It is the largest investor-owned system of its kind in the nation and dates back to the days of California's Gold Rush and still provides Californians with safe, reliable, and clean energy.
