Refrigerator and Freezer Recycling

Get Up To a $35 Rebate

Recycle that old working refrigerator or freezer. If it's over 10 years old, it could be using up to three times more energy than newer models. We’ll pick it up and pay you $35.

Don't Trash It – Recycle It

Refrigerators and freezers have components that can be hazardous or toxic. Don't just throw them out with the regular trash, arrange a pickup and have them recycled safely.

How To Get Your Rebate

  • You must be a Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) electric customer.
  • The recycled refrigerator must be residential grade, commercial refrigerators do not qualify.
  • Your refrigerator or freezer must be 10 to 32 cubic feet in size, empty and operational at the time of pickup.
  • There is a limit of two refrigerators or freezers per customer, per year.
  • Contact JACO Environmental, PG&E's recycling partner for a pickup.
  • Allow approximately six to eight weeks after the pickup for PG&E to send you a check in the amount of $35 for each refrigerator or freezer.
