PG&E’s Business and Consumer Electronics Program is leading the way by addressing the needs of our customers at work and at home. We are working with retailers and manufacturers to bring the highest-efficiency desktop computers, monitors and TVs to market and make them readily available to consumers at key retailer locations. To easily identify these products, just look for the PG&E and ENERGY STAR® stickers.

  • Computers that have earned the EPA’s ENERGY STAR could save up to 76kWh/year, which is comparable to the savings from an ENERGY STAR refrigerator.
  • Home office equipment, such as desktop computers, LCD monitors, and printers which earned the EPA’s ENERGY STAR could save nearly $80 over the lifetime of the products.
  • Did you know it takes approximately 529 pounds of fossil fuels to manufacture a 53-pound computer system (including the monitor), along with 49 pounds of chemicals and 1.5 tons of water?

Purchasing energy-efficient electronics can save you energy, money, and help the environment. The product you choose can make a big difference.
