At 2:00 a.m. this Sunday, November 3, all of us on daylight saving time will turn our clocks back an hour and return to standard time. That “extra hour” of sleep can’t come soon enough!
However, there is another benefit to returning to standard time. You will once again be receiving your customers' meter data an hour earlier than during daylight saving time. California Gas Transmission's system that processes meter data operates on the same time clock throughout the year, not recognizing seasonal time changes. So, when we "fall back,” you will begin to see your meter data at approximately 3:30 a.m. Pacific Standard Time, rather than at approximately 4:30 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.
Enjoy your extra hour and earlier meter data on Sunday morning!
