PG&E modifies two gas vehicle tariffs

PG&E’s Advice Letter 4894-G submitted as directed by the California Public Utilities Commission

PG&E’s Advice Letter 4894-G submitted as directed by the California Public Utilities Commission in Decision 24-03-002 has been approved. The changes to two gas vehicle tariffs will take effect on July 1, 2024.

Tariff title changes are:

  • G-NGV1 Core Natural Gas Service for Compression on Customers’ Premises is revised as G-NGV1 Core Gas Service to Gas Vehicle Fueling Stations
  • G-NGV4 Noncore Natural Gas Service for Compression on Customers’ Premises is revised as G-NGV4 Noncore Gas Service to Gas Vehicle Fueling Stations

Additionally, both tariffs will be revised as follows:

  • Removed the term “Natural” and instead use term ”Gas.” This aligns with PG&E’s existing gas Rule 1 where the definition of gas includes natural gas, renewable gas, biomethane, manufactured gas, or a mixture of any or all of the above. All gas must meet PG&E pipeline safety specifications.
  • The applicability sections are revised to include all “vehicles.” Vehicles shall include all means of transporting people or goods such as but not limited to automobiles, trucks, marine vessels, trains, and aircraft.
  • Removed the term “Compressed.” The tariffs allow for additional forms of gas beyond just compressed gas alone, such as Liquefied Natural Gas.
