    • Energy-related life-threatening emergencies
  • Home weatherization

By greatest need

LIHEAP may also prioritize applicants based on:

  • The greatest need and income
  • Vulnerable status, including :
    • The elderly
    • The disabled
    • Households with young children

Is a federally funded program

  • LIHEAP is a federally funded assistance program.
  • It is overseen by the California Department of Community Services and Development (CSD).
  • It is administered by 31 Action Agencies throughout California.
  • LIHEAP payments may vary by location and funding availability.
