Ways to pay my PG&E bill

emergency alert  Effective May 19, you will see new transaction fees for using a bank account, credit or debit card payment.

*Note: Effective 5/19/25, you will see new transaction fees for using a bank account, credit or debit card payment. Your new fee will be:

  • For residential customers using a bank account, consumer/personal credit card or any debit card: $1.50.
  • For business customers using a bank account, consumer/personal credit card or any debit card: $6.95.
  • If you use a commercial credit card, the surcharge will be 1.95% of the payment amount.

Why do I have to pay a transaction fee?

PG&E has partnered with an independent payment provider so you can pay with a credit or debit card on a one-time or recurring basis. The fees for these payments are set by credit card networks, payment processors, and banks, not by PG&E. California Assembly Bill 746 (AB746, enacted in 2005) restricts energy companies, including PG&E, from passing these costs to all customers. Instead, only those using this service are charged these fees. The last fee change occurred in 2017.
