For those with Access and Functional Needs (AFN) whose health or safety could be a risk during power outages, we have resources to help. See if you can receive extra support and assistance.
Stay safe and informed
Log in to your account to sign up for outage alerts at locations important to you or to update your contact information.
211 California
Speak with a live agent to build a custom outage preparedness plan and get connected to local resources. 211 can provide support during a PSPS like food replacement, transportation or hotel stays.
Disability Disaster Access and Resources (DDAR)
The California Foundation for Independent Living offers personalized assistance to those with disabilities. Create an emergency plan, find accessible car rides, and more.
Food replacement
We partner with local organizations to help you access food options during and after a PSPS.
Hotel accommodations and discounts

Community Resource Centers (CRCs)
During a PSPS, visit a CRC to find basic supplies and use charging stations in a safe, accessible location.

Backup power
To reduce impacts of outages and support those who need to remain home to stay safe, we offer backup power options and discounts.
Medical Baseline Program
Do you rely on power for certain medical needs? Get energy at the lowest price on your current rate and additional support.
Self-Identified Vulnerable Program
Receive additional support if you rely on power for your health or safety. You do not need to have specific medical needs or doctor approval to self-identify.
Food replacement
We partner with local organizations to help you replace food lost during and after a PSPS.
Local food banks provide food replacement during a PSPS and up to three days after. Some food banks may have income restrictions, so please reach out to your local food bank for more information. Note: Food is available while supplies last.
Meals on Wheels is a service that delivers meals to seniors enrolled in the program. The program also serves anyone who is unable to leave their home due to illness, frailty, or disability regardless of age. During a PSPS those who are enrolled with their meals on wheels provider can receive an extra meal for reach day of the outage.
Eligible seniors must be:
- 60 years or older
- The spouse of a person aged 60 or older
- At risk of malnutrition
- Unable to visit a Meals on Wheels center
Hotel accommodations and discounts
As a PG&E customer, we want to ensure you have a safe place to stay during a PSPS. If you are impacted by a PSPS, or any PG&E outage, you may be eligible for discounted lodging at certain hotels.
Vacancy is not guaranteed. Upon arrival, you may be asked to verify your status as a PG&E customer. Other terms and conditions may apply. PG&E is not affiliated with or responsible for hotel stays. PG&E is also not responsible for any charges, fees or reimbursements.
