Relief for Energy Assistance through Community Help (REACH)

PG&E contributed $55 million to provide more help for past-due bills

Due to the overwhelming response to PG&E’s $55 million contribution to expand REACH benefits in 2024, REACH and REACH Triple Match funding has been fully utilized.

As of August 30, 2024, new applications for REACH and REACH Triple Match are not being accepted. If your application was already submitted, you will receive an update on funding availability no later than September 30, 2024. To see the status of your application, please visit the MyStatus Portal on the Dollar Energy Fund website.


If you are in need of assistance, we encourage you to explore other income-eligible support programs

Income should be before taxes and based on current income sources. To find out if your gross (before tax) income qualifies you to receive assistance from REACH:

  • All applicants must provide verification of income.
  • Customers on a payment plan are now eligible to apply. (Please note: Arrearage Management Plan (AMP) customers are not eligible for REACH or REACH Triple Match.)
  • Additional Benefits Available for 2024 Recipients: Qualifying customers who received REACH or REACH Triple Match credits earlier this year may be eligible to receive a second credit under the new guidelines, with up to a $2,000 total benefit available for 2024.
    • REACH recipients do not need to take any action or reapply.
    • Triple Match recipients who still have a past due amount will be invited to make a second pledge to receive another 3-to-1 match.
  • PG&E account must be residential, single home or apartment. No “cooking only,” commercial, industrial or apartments with shared utility service.
  • Accounts that are in Section 8 or government-subsidized housing may be eligible.
  • Dollar Energy Fund energy credit support cannot be used to cover security deposits or reconnection fees, closed accounts or transferred balances.   

 

Shutoff for nonpayment is a last resort
